Water
Villa is clad with vertical western cedar beams that create beautiful geometric
patterns across its boxy shell. They represent an abstract illusion of the
canal´s water while
providing privacy and a subtle play of light to its interiors. Inside, the
floating home is bright, minimal and airy, with a central steel staircase that
follows the facade’s vertical pattern. Thanks
to the central staircase and skylight at the top, plenty of natural light
reaches every corner of the house. An atrium at the centre connects all areas;
the kids’ room is down at the basement and the ground
floor is used for entertaining and cooking. Private, luxurious and modern, the
top floor of this gorgeous dwelling -with the bedroom and study – has remote-controlled shutter windows that can
fold up for extra privacy.
